Assessment of Internet Resources Usage for Learning: A Case Study of NIMS University Jaipur, India.

This study examines the assessment of access and use of internet resources for learning in school of social science and humanities, “What type of Internet Resources are available for the students in the school, through which channels students in school of social science access Internet Resources for Learning, for what purpose do the students in school of social science use internet resources for, to what extent are the students in the school satisfied with the internet resources available, what are the challenges to access and use of internet resources by the students in the school of social science and humanities”. It contains three undergraduate departments which is examined namely: economics, commerce, psychology. The present study is significant because it helped to assess the benefits of Internet usage among the students. Survey was also used as the research method, using the questionnaire as instrument. The study concludes that although respondents use internet, Wi-Fi and GSM data frequently, which takes much of the time meant for their studies, it has a positive impact on their Academics. The study recommends that more internet facilities in school of social science and humanities should be upgraded to meet the standard of learning.And school management should make the school environment more oriented,so that more people will participate in running internet cafes as it seems to be easiest and most affordable ways for students to have access to internet resources. More students should be encouraged to use internet for learning, as this will enable them share useful academic information with students from other institutions of higher learning across the world.
