Artificial Intelligence in Libraries (AI): Shaping the Future of Information Retrieval and Access
Author(s): Namrata Nagappa Pai
Abstract - The incorporation of AI is assured to revolutionize the environment of library facilities, transforming how information is managed, retrieved, and delivered. This study explores AI's profound role in reshaping libraries by elevating operational productivity and user satisfaction. One of the primary objectives is to analyse the impact of artificial intelligence on Information retrieval and access, focusing on how AI technologies improve search algorithms, reduce retrieval time, and personalize content recommendations, ensuring users receive relevant information seamlessly. Additionally, the study will identify key AI tools and techniques already being implemented in libraries, such as natural language processing (NLP) for better query understanding, machine learning (ML) for trend analysis, and Chatbots, for enhanced user interaction. Finally, the study seeks to predict the upcoming libraries in the context of artificial intelligence integration, considering potential challenges and opportunities in libraries, making them more accessible, efficient, and adaptable to the needs of the modern user.
