Abstract - Artificial intelligence (AI) and digitization radically change how we live, work, communicate, learn, and enjoy our free time. Whether people realize it or not, advanced technologies like artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly integrated into their daily lives. As the twenty-first century goes on, human ingenuity and creativity are influencing many different professions and making it possible to derive value from new technologies. AI has the potential to completely change how scholars and librarians engage with library materials. Metadata has always been essential in facilitating material discovery. In the absence of metadata, the extensive resources of a library remain largely inaccessible to those seeking information. Humans function as both creators and consumers of tools. Libraries act as the central hub for preserving memory and fostering future knowledge development, both of which are vital for the effective application of AI. A survey of the literature on artificial intelligence (AI) implementation in libraries and its implications for library operations is presented in this article.
